Hi Marie, Yes sorry about that, been very busy at work and had some berievements in the family. I did get your letter and I took it to Alf and shown him the article but he didn't recognise your dad. I'm not sure if I can help any better than that. I hope you find out more information about him. Alf is getting a bit forgetfull now and his memory isn't what it used to be. Is there anyone else out there that has been in contact with you with any information?

Hi Marie, I haven't found anything else out but if you can send me the a copy of the pictures I will take them to Alf and ask if he knows anything. My address is 29 Carslake Avenue Bolton, BL14BT. I will ask him if it is ok for you to phone him if you want to speak to him, bearing in mind he is 83 and a bit hard of hearing now.
Speak to you soon. Keith

Hi Marie, I found a picture on the archive that shows Alf wrestling Masambula, although it says it is Ken but they've got it wrong. Its number 83 i think. I will get the address for you but in the mean time I have the picture of them both which I will put on the archive in a few minutes so you can have a look. Speak to youagain soon.

Hi Marie. I went to see Alf last week and mentioned about your dad but he said he didn't know him. I'm what the answer is. Do you have any pictures of your dad? or where and when he wrestled? I did ask Alf how the name Cadman came about as obviously his name is Edge. He told me that when he was amatuer wrestling in the YMCA in Manchester a chap came and asked if he wanted to come and watch the pro's which he agreed to. While he was there one of the wrestlers didn't turn up so he was quickly taken to the promoter who lent him some gear and off he went. When the MC asked him his name he replied Alf Edge. The MC said no I'll think of something else and introduced him as Alf Cadman. After the bout he then asked the MC why Cadman, to which he replied, " I used to be a boxer and I got the best beating of my life by a bloke caled Joe Cadman and its a name I'll never forget so it was the first name that came into my head" So it stuck from then on. Later Ken also started wrestling and the won a tag team event together, thats the one I have the photo of. Hope this helps. We might get to the bottom of this one day.

HI Marie, what year did your dad wrestle? My uncles Ken, sadly deceased and Alf who is still alive went under the name of Cadman and wrestled in the early sixties. I don't know of your dad Tommy but I will ask Alf when I next speak to him. It might be a coincidence that there were others using the same name in a different era. Alf still lives in Bury Greater Manchester and often talks of his days wrestling.
