Wrestling has lost another great grappler in the form of Scotsman: IAN ST JOHN a lightweight sensation from the 60's/ 70's period who worked for opposition Promoters in the sixties, before joining Dale-Martins in the early seventies. The one time former tag partner of JOHNNY SAINT then known as the ST.JOHNS always maintained that his hardest opponent was the great JIM BREAKS , a theory that Saint himsolf also echoed.
Ian was a useful amateur wrestler before turning Pro, studying for three years at the Accrington Wrestling Club.
Outside the arena,he worked as a policeman, joiner and even a funeral Director and he enjoyed many interests including training guard dogs, football and cricket.
Our sympathies go out to Ian's Family: wife ENID, and three Sons: IAN, STEPHEN and JOHN at this sad time especially to Daughter DIANE who passed the news in the first instance.
