I get many letters asking about the Boxing & Wrestling Booths that traveled the Uk fairs I try and answer all, but my Wrestling was only on one Booth and that was Ron Taylors I am sad to say I never had anything to do with other Booths we looked on them as the opposition As I was very young I would not even go across to talk to them But I would love to here from people who worked on or just went along as a fan Which ones did you think were the best, and why you liked them, there were people who came in the afternoon and stayed till the last show of the night, as I have said I had many happy times on the booths. As we are still involved in the fairgrounds, I sit on the ride and the memories come flooding back, just the good ones So please post all your Memories and share with friends around the World all the best Dennis Lord

"BILLY WOODS" used to have a "Boxing and Wrestling booth" I personally wrestled for him at the Nottingham Goose Fair 2 years, it was always a popular spot on the fairground, Billy I don't know what happened to him but can remember he always looked so smart upfront with his silver hair and pencil moustache, dressed in a smart black suit and white shirt and dickie bow.

Johnny Kincaid and myself : Frank Rimer started wrestling careers working for Mickey Kylie on the booths in and around Plymouth Devon. That was way back in the very late 50s/early 60's. They would be a mixture of boxing and wrestling but could be brutal if you were unlucky.

I also worked for Mickey Kylie in the West Country. Take a look at the "Wrestling Furnace" site. I have posted a photo of the booth. It was taken at the Bath and West Steam Fair. Thats me on the far right. Sadly, I cant remember the names of the other guys (other than Mickey).
